The first geologist from HKU to receive the Khwarizmi International Award (First Class)

Professor Zhao Guochun of the Department of Earth Sciences, HKU has been selected as one of the laureates for the 29th Khwarizmi International Award (KIA), and received a first-class prize. Professor Zhao's research work for this award is "A Paleo-Mesoproterozoic supercontinent and its record in North China", which led to two original and important scientific achievements. Professor Zhao is the first geologist to win this award.
